The Tech Shock podcast – a problem hiding in plain sight?
Last week, Parent Zone published a new research paper 'A problem hiding in plain sight?'. The paper investigates the number of children who experience financial harm online.
It found that 96% of children aged 13-18 have made an online purchase – worth an estimated £50 million each week. The paper challenges the assumptions that the sums involved are small, and that children’s financial behaviours are always lawful and without risk.
In the latest episode of the Tech Shock podcast, Vicki and Geraldine discuss the research – exploring if and why financial harms are so overlooked when it comes to children and their online lives.
