Discover the Digiworld curriculum
Digiworld is an online safety education programme – designed to help children aged between 5 and 16 develop the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the online world in a safer and more enjoyable way, whilst promoting digital resilience.
Schools can download free curriculum packs that work alongside the Digiworld game.
The curriculum is based on four pillars:
1. Understanding the Digital World
2. Being a Digital Citizen
3. Recovering when things go wrong
4. Parent knowledge and confidence
Each pillar has three levels, designed to build on previous learning. Each level increases in complexity, helping children develop their digital understanding in new and more challenging ways.
Level 1: Identify - Children identify if scenarios and options are positive or negative. This is ideal for younger children beginning to explore the online world.
Level 2: Comprehend - Children will have a greater understanding about why options are positive or negative. This builds on level one by exploring more complicated language.
Level 3: Evaluate - Learners critically evaluate which options are most appropriate for a range of scenarios. This level will be most suitable for older children or those with experience of being online
The content is fun to read, simple to understand and accessible to anyone. If you choose to teach the curriculum by using the game you will see that it does most of the work! All you have to do is ensure your usual classroom behaviour rules are followed.
